Air China - Missed a flight due to lack information given by Check in officer
I am Miss Thanthip Pratumma, booked a flight from Bangkok to Barcelona. Reservation Number: MNC7U8, Locator Flight: KXML6Y I have missed this flight despite of checking in on time before departure. The check in officer did not allow me to receive the boarding pass (she printed already) because i was not able to show her the flight booking on returning to Bangkok. I was not informed that just a booking of the returning flight to Bangkok is okay to get on this flight but to show a real flight on an uncertainty plan which was creating a confusion/unnecessarily solution that I missed my flight. This made a lost in money and time. I had to book a flight with Qatar Airways with a proper/helpful explanation given by a check in counter at that time. Please consider to refund this flight (a replacement ticket/ cash refund), this can be discussed. Looking forward to hearing from you. Thank you, Thanthip Pratumma

Change the ticket data

Hello, I'd like to ask you is there any possibillities to chane the ticket data like name, surname. Unfortunately I can't go on the trip with my friends because of my health. We have a friend who could go instead of me. I hope there's any chance to do it, even if there's a bonus fee or if it'd change the ticket price.

Good morning, I am writing to inform you that I arrived on a flight from Beijing on Saturday 06/01/2024 to Barcelona & my baggage didn't arrive. I made a complaint at the airport that same morning and was told they would be in contact with me. I have tried calling the number they gave me ( 0034 9********) several times since Saturday and have not been able to speak with anyone. Dzień Dobry Moje nazwisko Daniel Bednarski i mam pytanie dotyczące jak przebiega proces rezerwacji biletu do Meksyku z Niemiec a mianowicie chodzi mi o to iż jestem w trakcie wyrabiania swojego paszportu i jest on do odbioru 2.02.2024r. A lot mamy 10.02.2024r. I moje pytanie jest czy mogę zarezerwować taki bilet nie mając jeszcze fizycznie paszportu ? Bo z tego co się orientuję to dane z paszportu są potrzebne podczas odprawy prawda ? Ale moja mama upiera się że nie będę mógł takiego biletu kupić i zarezerwować nie mając jeszcze paszportu i teraz już sam nie wiem co mam myśleć wszystkie informacje jakie próbowałem szukać w sieci na ten temat mówią że nie potrzebuje paszportu do rezerwacji i kupna biletu a dopiero jest on potrzebny przy dokonaniu odprawy . I requested information about status of shipment because it should be effected on May 21st and cargo was not shipped. Until now, I have not received any message from Air China. However, they could do the shipment and goods arrived to Peru yesterday.

Staff in Air China Counter Vancouver airport changed my mum's reserved seat without any explanation

One staff ( middle east looking) at the Air china check in counter Vancouver international airport changed my mum's reserved seat without any explanation. The guy is around 30 years old, middle east looking and his hair was covered. Today ( Sep 29, 2019) I sent off my mum at the Vancouver international airport. My mum's flight is CA992, from Vancouver to Beijing. I already helped her to reserve her seat( 51H) in Feb this year because she is a senior person ( 77 years old) and do need a comfortable seat. However, when my mum and myself went to counter to check in, the guy ( middle east looking) treated us rudely, and we had a very unpleasant conversation. I told him that I have reserved the seat for my mum. He said Yes! You will get your seat that you reserved. However, when he passed us the ticket, the seat is 59C, not 51H. I said this seat is not correct, because I reserved 51H. He said our flight is full, this seat is also aisle seat, If you want another seat, confirm with counter, that's it! He said rudely, and I feel very uncomfortable and frustrated. If he can change my seat as he please, what does my reservation for? If the flight is full, he should at least explain, he treated us like slave, no respect at all. I dont want to judge people by person, but his attitude is not suitable to work as the customer service. My mum called me when she was in the flight, her seat is located at the last second line of the flight, the end of the rear. She was very very upset. She usually walk slow, how long she will take to get it out when the flight arrive Beijing? I am very unhappy with the person, and I would like to complain him, and would appreciate if you could take any action about him

They stole many things from my luggage, new things with tags. They were even selective. After I returned home, many people told me they steal things from the luggage as travelers go through customs. No one answers my emails and when you call, they tell you they will get to you. Worst service ever. Cannot get through to anyone. Never seen anything like it. Reading the rest of the complaints, I doubt I will get anything. In flight, don't expect to get a cup of coffee, they only do it for the staff. I smelled it twice but not for passengers. Cookies were for display because they did not give them out. Flight attendants were not friendly at all. I was surprised when they said goodbye at the end of the flight. I just invested in locks and so anywhere I go, my bags will be locked.

The worst airline I've ever experienced. They're un familiar with immigration documents. My wife is a permanent resident with an official Travel document, issued by the U S state Department. We're flying from San Fransisco to Bangkok (with a Thailand issued via) with Air China with 1hr 20 minutes stop in Peking. At check in, they denied her boarding. Long story short, we ended up not being able to fly, stranded in San Fransisco--our home is Minnesota, had to buy a next day flight to return home, super expensive. Our 2 year planned vacation turned disaster--super painful...unmeasurable. This was just yesterday (11/26/16). Have not even resolved the airfare cost issue yet, don't how it's going to go, will do back home in MN. We're flying home to Minnesta later today. Advice: DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THEIR CHEAP TICKET !

LOST BAGS NO RESPONSE FROM CUSTOMER SERVICE

I AM FURIOUS WITH YOUR COMPANY RIGHT NOW. I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GET SOME RESOLUTION WITH YOU ALL SINCE DECEMBER 3RD WHEN I ARRIVED IN MANILA. Cancelled flight ticket

I arrived at JFK to fly Air China to PEK and my seat/ticket disappeared. I was told there was an over booking and there is nothing I could do. My seat I paid extra for. I also booked with CheapOair and called them and they did nothing. Be careful everyone with China Air!!!!!! I booked my flight a month ago and it was cancelled three times for no reason. I dont know who to contact for a refund or some kind of assistance. If anyone knows let me know. eddieflok57@***.com

Air China staff screw me over and send my luggage to Turkey

It has been a while ago. Back in March 2013 I reserved a one-way flight from Guangzhou (CAN) to LAX, stopover at Beijing (PEK) since it is the hub for Air China. CA1316 CAN-PEK / CA983 PEK-LAX. Arrived at airport a bit late and had to re-arrange my suitcases because of overweight. The regular check-in counter staff refers me to the emergency counter. Everything was fine until the guy at the counter told me only one luggage can be checked. I was confused since the itinerary clearly says I can check 2 bags for international flight even there is a stopover at PEK. He was impatient and saying that "the system said you could only check one bag in", did not even bother read the itinerary. So I have to re-arrange my suitcase again and did not verify the name on baggage tag. I rushed to the security check. (this is where the nightmare starts) The flight is delay about 30 to 40 mins at CAN. I flew with Air China several times before but this is the first time got delay. After boarding I start organizing my stuff, then realize sth is wrong with the bag tag.. It shown a completely different person's name on there, and the destination shown IST(Istanbul) instead of LAX. It reminds me that there were 2 people in front of me they looked like Turkish so the guy at the emergency counter should be the one messed up my freaking luggage. I was stoned there for a while because there are many important documents and expensive stuff in the suitcase and they are going to a completely different direction after this connection flight (IST is westbound for PEK departure, while LAX is eastbound). Got less than 1.5 hours to get it fixed at PEK. So I went straight to the Air China bag claim office hope they could retrieve my suitcase from the wrong plane. It was a large room and well staffed there. I explained my situation to a mid-age guy there, he asked me to provide the bag tag to him. I hold it in my hand and show him. Then he asked he need to take it in order to check with the system. I have no choice and gave him. The first thing he did is ripping off the bag tag sticker from my boarding pass then went into a backroom. I know there is sth wrong with that move but I don't know what to do since this is the first time I encounter this kind of situation. "You need to go to deputy manager counter on 3rd floor and they might be able to retrieve it" He said after he came back, gave me back the bag tag and boarding pass. Then I went up there with my heavy backpack. There were 2 staff there, one poker-faced old lady (Should be the deputy manager) and a young man. Explain entire things to them again and provide all my passport and IDs. "Well we can't be sure this is your bag tag since it is not your name on it, people can pick this up anywhere and claim the luggage is theirs" she said that in a doubtful face feels like she think I am some kind of swindler. I told her the people in bag claim office on 1st floor did it, and I don't know why the name is different and it is not my fault that your company's staff at CAN messed up with this. "Well it is not our fault either, their staff is employed by Guangzhou airport, not by Air China, we can't make sure they don't make mistakes" she literally just said that. I looked at the clock is already 8:20 sth and I am still at the landside, flight to LAX depart at 9. Eventually the young man managed to call the luggage belt staff and located the suitcase, he said they found it and they will bring it to the boarding gate. I thanked him for his effort, but both of them did not feel bad for me in any way, not even a facial expression. By the time I leave, the old lady (so-called manager) has no facial expression at all times (except for her doubtful look and glared at me). I re-check in my heavy backpack at the check-in guy told me I should be able to check 2 bags at CAN. He is not sure what was wrong with that, "Some airports employ their own staff and we train them only, they don't really work for us, they work for the airport" he added. Then I rushed to security check, immigration, ran to the other side of Terminal 3 (T3 is new at PEK and huge). When I saw the gate number they were already final calling my flight and my name. There was another female staff who was very nice (shocked by her friendly smile) and tell me to write down address and name on bag tag. I was the last 4 to board the freaking plane, which means if the young guy do nothing back there I am definitely missed the flight and have to spend another $800 to book another ticket! Air China is a nation-owned company and funded by Chinese government. These titles probably make them feel superior in some ways. I do admit that I should have arrived at the airport early and verified everything that the checkin counter gave me. But the way they try to get rid of their responsibility and the mid-age guy rip off the bag tag (that was a really nasty move). It really disgust people. I fly at least 30,000 miles annually and have never seen any airline like Air China before. They are really unprofessional and no customer service at all. A few TIPS: 1. Avoid flying with any Mainland China carriers for international travel, if there is a choice ; 2. If there isn't, read all the terms before booking tickets, ask the airline to email you the copy of e-ticket confirmation (Not the itinerary), print it out and bring it with you ; 3. Leave enough time for getting to airport and check-in, especially when you have a good amount of luggage (it should apply to most circumstances) ; 4. VERIFY the info on the boarding pass and bag tag before leaving the check-in counter ; 5. If any reasons you did not verify and has incorrect info on it, take a picture of the bag tag along with the boarding pass before give it to anyone, especially the staff ; 6. Avoid flying with Air China within Mainland China as well, since they has a well known reputation that screwing their clients over, even to those first-class/business class passengers.

Your an *** for not checking your own info on your bags. This whole situation is YOUR fault, don't blame the airline.

Sure the employee has fault too but it's your responsibility too.

I would be skeptical of someone doing this too, manager is just doing her job. For someone who travels 30k per year, your not very good at it.
